Your admission to Irwin County Hospital will be arranged in advance, if possible, by your doctor. If admitted from your doctor’s office, they will tell you when to arrive at the registration department. It is important that you arrive timely, especially if surgery is scheduled for the next morning, so any necessary tests can be completed. Contact Us
Before you Arrive
- Pre-Certification: Most insurance plans require pre-certification for non-emergency visits to the hospital. It is the patient’s responsibility to get pre-certification from the insurance provider. Click here for Pre-Cert Services.
- What to Bring: You will need only a few personal items such as a bathrobe, slippers, sleepwear, and toiletries. The hospital will provide a gown and other items you need. Bring currently prescribed home medications, as well as supplements, i.e. herbals and other over-the-counter medications.
- Valuables: We recommend that you do not bring valuables with you. We cannot be responsible for them, so we ask that you leave them at home or have a family member take them when they leave to go home. We are also not responsible for dentures, eyeglasses, hearing aids or other personal items of this nature.
Upon arrival to Irwin County Hospital, please present to the registration desk and they will contact your nurse to assure your room is ready. To complete your registration, please bring the following items with you: health insurance card(s), photo identification (driver’s license, etc.), physician’s order and list of current medications. After completion of the registration process, a member of our staff will escort you to your room. Patient care rooms include private and semi-private medical care rooms.
